The results of rising temperature are many and varied on the land and in the ocean. We invite you to help gather authorative opinions and evidence of these effects which include melting glaciers and icecaps, loss of permafrost, drier countries and wetter countries and the pressures on plant and animal species. It is important to identify in advance at what point these will cause unacceptable damage to life on the planet - including us. Bear in mind that 1 degree of warming on average includes 6 degrees warming in some Northern areas and some cooling in other places. The most accurate climate models are starting to indicate the worst problem areas. The 11 states of the US West have shown above average warming leading to local losses of billions already.
There are at present conflicting opinions regarding the effect of warming on the frequency and severity of earthquakes. There is also growing concern about the increasing frequency of severe flooding from recently discovered atmospheric rivers.
