Politicians are restricted by the understanding which the people have of the situation. By proposing legislation you initiate discussion at the highest levels. Even though you may not be successful you enable governments to legislate at a later stage.

Homes Marketing Bill

The Homes Marketing Bill is my attempt to make home buyers more aware of the risks they run when they purchase an energy inefficient home. During the next 40 years energy inefficient homes will either be renovated to meet 2050 needs or phased out. The risk of losing a large part of your investment must be considered now. Would you buy a 30 year lease to enjoy an inefficient home and then not be able to sell it?

It is based on the logic that when the government fulfills its promise to generate all electricity from renewables by 2030 it will simultaneously be phasing out nearly all types of domestic combustion.
