Did NOAA National Weather Service heads quit because of climate change?

I think the NWS directors quit due to their failures to the American people and the world on climate change.
They're telling people otherwise, below.
I hope NOAA will reconsider this policy immediately and start working with NWS in healthy ways that will benefit the lifesaving efforts of this organization, one widely distributed e-mail said.
``If you are troubled by this turn of events, please tell NOAA corporate headquarters that you would like the NWS and NHC to retain its distinctive identity, mission and name.
Johnson, 55, supervised the National Weather Service's 4,600 employees during the record 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons, many swarms of tornadoes and other severe weather events.
Before joining the weather service, he spent 30 years as an Air Force officer, retiring as a brigadier general.
Jones worked his way through the ranks, serving as a forecaster and manager in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Bohemia, N.Y., before moving to headquarters in 1998.
He said he will turn 55 on June 22, and ``at the first opportunity, I'm retiring.
I have the years of service in, and when you're in one organization as long as I have been, you start thinking about this very seriously,'' he said.
