Chinese Wind Power - 13/10/2006
Yinchuan (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, which has the country's richest wind power resources, has produced 10 wind-fired power generators that are reportedly 10-20 per cent cheaper than those produced in Europe and Japan.
Each of the power generators has a generation capacity of 750 kilowatts.
The manufacturer, Ningxia Tian Jing Electronic Energy Development Group Co., Ltd., plans to produce 60 such generators in 2006, 60 per cent of which will be used for the region's wind power generation, with the rest to be sold to other provinces/regions.
Over the next 15 years Ningxia plans to invest a total of 17.6 billion yuan (US$2.2 billion) to build nine wind power farms.
