Britons fear that carbon cops will soon be coming to enforce new legislation being mooted to reduce human-made carbon emissions.
A survey by Britain's Energy Saving Trust showed that 41 percent of
Britons think the country will need its own Carbon Police Force by mid-
century, and that repeat offenders will have to go into carbon rehab and
take carbon addiction classes.
With renewed warnings of a global catastrophe some people fear that
failure to cut personal carbon emissions will eventually result in enforced
carbon behavior re-education.
Carbon emissions produce from British homes and travel amount to over
40 per cent of the UK's total emissions.
The survey coincides with an "Emission Impossible, a vision for a low
carbon lifestyle by 2050 designed to help people kick their carbon habit.
Environment groups are pushing for more home power generation,
smart meters in homes to help cut power consumption, less water
wastage, more reuse and recycling and more emphasis on efficient
appliances.
